From 15 August 2026, the Dutch Cybersecurity Act comes into effect. Since June, DGOffice has been NIS2 Supply Chain certified, helping organisations work with secure and reliable solutions.
NIS2
Cybersecurity is playing an increasingly important role in organisations and their digital collaboration. To strengthen Europe’s digital resilience during uncertain times, the European Union introduced the NIS2 Directive. The directive helps organisations better manage cyber risks, improve the security of network and information systems, and respond more effectively to cybersecurity incidents. In doing so, NIS2 contributes to a higher level of cybersecurity.
In addition to strengthening cybersecurity within organisations, NIS2 also emphasises the importance of a secure digital supply chain. Companies are encouraged not only to protect their own systems, but also to carefully assess the security of the suppliers and partners they work with. In this way, the directive contributes to a stronger and more secure digital network across Europe.

The Dutch Cybersecurity Act
From 15 August, the NIS2 Directive will be implemented in the Netherlands through the Dutch Cybersecurity Act. Organisations that fall within the scope of this legislation will need to comply with new cybersecurity and risk management requirements.
The Act introduces a duty of care and incident reporting obligations. Organisations are required to take appropriate measures to protect their services and the information they use. In addition, significant cybersecurity incidents must be reported to the relevant authorities.
The legislation primarily applies to organisations operating in essential and important sectors, such as energy, transport, healthcare, digital infrastructure, manufacturing, public administration, and digital service providers. However, many other organisations may also be affected by their role in the supply chain.
